HE DARK AGE – ECCE HOMO

For the imprint’s sixth release, we take a left turn to Brisbane, 1986, when little known post-punk project He Dark Age released their debut cassette, Ecce Homo. By all accounts, the album is a lost gem of the DIY golden age, a scintillating mixture of the post-punk belligerence and the earliest remnants of avant-garde electronic music borne out of industrial music. Ranging from the rolling noise churn of ‘Never Never Never’ to the chopped evangelical dialogue of ‘Jesus Didn’t Beat Him Over The Head’, and you wouldn’t believe they were made by the same band.
