Vol. 2 is also something of an evolution for the Miami man: while certainly returning to the more character-based storytelling of his Raider Klan adjacent/early mixtape era, Curry develops plots and morphs these pieces to reflect the passage of time. More than anything else though, Mischievous South Vol. 2 is indeed a celebration of the South: sonic textures and guest verses from Memphis, Atlanta, Houston, and South Florida all mix around to create a love letter to a strain of rap that still feels out of time.
