Reach for the Dead is from Tomorrow's Harvest, the fourth studio album by the Scottish electronic music duo Boards of Canada, due to be released on 10 June 2013.

BLING RING OST
Def Jam will release the official soundtrack for The Bling Ring-- the new Sofia Coppola-directed, Emma Watson-starring film based on the true story of a group of kids in L.A. who robbed celebrities' homes. The film was scored by Daniel Lopatin, aka synth experimentalist Oneohtrix Point Never, working with with longtime Coppola collaborator Brian Reitzell. Reitzell also served as the executive soundtrack producer and music supervisor, putting together a very eclectic mix of rap (Kanye, Azealia Banks, Rick Ross) and krautrock (Klaus Schulze, Can) plus the likes of Sleigh Bells, M.I.A., Frank Ocean, and Phoenix. Check out the tracklist below.
Lopatin and Reitzell previously worked on music for the Kelsey Grammer-starring television show "Boss". Reitzell previously worked with Coppola on Marie Antoinette, Lost in Translation, and The Virgin Suicides. Lopatin and Reitzell also collaborated on a track for the Bling Ring soundtrack, "Bling Ring Suite".

MOGWAI - LES REVENANTS OST
Mogwai have soundtracked the French Canal+ program, "Les Revenants", which is loosely adapted from the 2004 French zombie film of the same name. Now, the band has shared details of their two different soundtrack releases. A four-song EP of songs from the TV show is out digitally today via Mogwai's own label Rock Action, to coincide with the show's last episode. The EP will also be released on a limited 10" (only 2,000 will be pressed) on January 28. The full soundtrack is out February 25.

New Order have confirmed that their long-delayed Lost Sirens collection will finally be out January 22nd. The release collects previously unreleased tracks recorded for 2005's Waiting for the Sirens' Call. It features an unreleased mix of the Waiting for the Sirens' Call track "I Told You So" as well as an extended version of "Hellbent", which was previously released on the 2011 compilation Total: From Joy Division to New Order, among other tracks.

SAINT ETIENNE - WHAT HAVE YOU DONE, MERVYN DAY?
Heavenly Films are to release a DVD release for 'What Have You Done Today, Mervyn Day?', Paul Kelly and Saint Etienne's classic depiction of London's lower Lea Valley before it was redeveloped to become the Olympic Park.
After their 2003 feature debut 'Finisterre' (co-directed by Kieran Evans) Paul and the band were commissioned by the Barbican in 2005 to direct a creative documentary with a live soundtrack. The film beautifully captures the east London site - its winding overgrown canals, and derelict warehouses - before the developers and bulldozers moved in, before the birthplace of plastic and petrol was changed forever.

Yet Again, is the second single from the band's fourth studio album, Shields and features lead vocals from Ed Droste.
The music video was directed by Emily Kai Bock. The video begins with an ice skater practicing in an empty ice rink. The ice skater then breaks through the ice and winds up in a lake. She then walks through a carnival and through a forest in order to get back to her skates. The video ends with the skater freaking out.
According to Bock, the skater was meant to be "symbolic of adolescence and the failure to learn a performance or role.

Billy Corgan, The Smashing Pumpkins frontman has opened a tea shop called Madame ZuZu's in Highland Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. "I'm a tea guy and living in Highland Park since 2003, I've always wanted to open a salon like this for everyone to enjoy," Corgan said in a statement.
This is part of a long line of dabblings by Corgan, who previously launched a new-agey inspirational website, wrote a book of poetry, created a puppet-wrestling event, appeared in a pro wrestling ad, and launched his own pro wrestling league, among other ventures.

Long adored and critically lauded in the blog world, Greene first came to prominence in the summer of 2009 after unassumingly posting a handful of bedroom-recorded tracks to his Myspace page from his family home in the seclusion of the tiny rural city of Perry, Georgia. “I’d been writing music on my own for three or four years previous to that,” Greene explains, “mostly as a way to experiment with songwriting processes. DAN DEACON - TRUE THRUSH
The video co-directed by Ben O'Brien and Dan Deacon is based on a drawing game popular in the Baltimore art collective Wham City, which is in turn based on the game "telephone."
For the video, Dan and Ben filmed a simple 13-second scene. That scene was then shown to the next team. After seeing the video that team had 1 hour to recreate it - characters, props, set, costumes, and actions - as close to exactly as possible from only their memory.

SOUNDWORKS
One hundred new sound works have been produced by artists from all over the world. Selected by our curators and art institutions worldwide, the artists have been invited to submit a sound work, taking its stimulus from themes evoked in Bruce Nauman's Days, presented concurrently in the ICA lower gallery, as part of their season on sound.
Soundworks embraces the ephemeral nature of sound, and presents an online platform that doubles as a virtual exhibition space. The site aims to make the works internationally accessible, a place to explore the genre as a medium which is simultaneously inclusive, interactive, and subversive. It includes a wide range of audible approaches by artists who have been working with the medium for many years, as well as artists taking their first venture into the sonic arts.
Soundworks is showing from June 19th to September 16th, 2012, at the ICA.

BEIRUT - THE RIP TIDE
The Rip Tide, title track from Beirut's 2011 album. It was directed by Houmam Abdallah. Zach Condon himself has a few words to say about the director's work on the video:
I always felt that "The Rip Tide" wasn't fully able to project its own ambitions in song form.. no matter how it was performed or recorded, it felt contained by sound alone... I wanted more, as I often do with my music, and this is not a bad thing. Growing to accept a song's limits is part of the process of creating and loving them. Which was why I was so excited to see what Houmam had dug into when he picked "The Rip Tide" out of all others for a video. The concept fit, and the product brought the song somewhere that I had only been able to describe to myself, now available for others to see and feel it much more as I had in the process of writing it.

GZA - LIQUID SWORDS BOX SET
A 2xCD deluxe box set version of GZA's 1995 classic Liquid Swords, which includes a working mini chess set will be released on July 24th. The album was remastered from the original tapes, and comes with a new, instrumental version of the record on the second disc, as well as a 20-page book. The book, penned by Boston Phoenix reporter Chris Faraone, includes an interview with GZA as well as the original Liquid Swords album artwork and singles art. The instrumental disc will also be individually released as a 2xLP vinyl package with a silk-screened jacket.

As part of Kraftwerk's eight-night retrospective New York museum residency this month, the band will release a limited-edition version of 2009's The Catalogue, the box set of remastered versions of all eight of their albums. 2,000 copies of the set will be sold on the Museum of Modern Art's website, and at gift shops in the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan and MoMA/PS1 in Queens.
Kraftwerk's eight-night residency will begin on April 10, when they'll perform their 1974 record Autobahn in full.

Over eight consecutive nights, April 10 - 17, 2012 MoMA presents a chronological exploration of the sonic and visual experiments of Kraftwerk with a live presentation of their complete repertoire in the Museum's Marron Atrium.
Each evening consists of a live performance and 3-D visualization of one of Kraftwerk's studio albums—Autobahn (1974), Radio-Activity (1975), Trans-Europe Express (1977), The Man-Machine (1978), Computer World (1981), Techno Pop (1986), The Mix (1991), and Tour de France (2003)—in the order of their release. Kraftwerk will follow each evening’s album performance with additional compositions from their catalog, all adapted specifically for this exhibition.

OK GO - NEEDING/GETTING
The new music video from OK Go, made in partnership with Chevrolet. OK Go set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording.

Occupy London’s alternative UBS office Xmas party featuring poets, dancers and comedians was joined by some very special anti-corporate entertainment in the basement of the Bank of Ideas building on Sun Street – an abandoned former office block near Liverpool Street belonging to investment bank UBS. Ironically, UBS was holding its actual Christmas party just down the road from the intimate gig.

20 years after its original vinyl release, the self-titled EP by Lego Feet aka Autechre’s Sean Booth and Rob Brown – finally lands on CD, with substantial extras, clocking in at a total of 70 minutes. The first ever release on Skam Records, for many this really is the holy grail of British electronica: pre-dating even the first official Autechre 12”, ‘Cavity Job’. Issued in limited quantities in ’91, the vinyl has never been re-pressed and remains incredibly rare.

APHEX TWIN'S REMOTE ORCHESTRA
Richard James, a.k.a. Aphex Twin, was commissioned to compose a series of short pieces for the European Culture Congress in Poland. He came up with the idea of controlling a 48 piece string section and a 24 strong choir by remote control, using midi controllers, lots of headphones and some remote visual cues. The performance which took place on September 10th at the Centennial Hall in Wroclaw, Poland, and included members the AUKSO chamber orchestra and OCTAVA ensemble+.

(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!) dropped in 1987 from the Licensed to Ill album.
This mini film directed by Adam Yauch pits a future version of the Beastie Boys (John C. Reilly, Will Ferrell and Jack Black) against a youth version of the Beastie Boys (Elijah Wood, Seth Rogen and Danny McBride), all in the vein of the original.

The Upsetter tells of Lee “Scratch” Perry, a visionary musician and artist from poor rural Jamaica who journeyed to the big city in the late 1950s with dreams of making it in the burgeoning record industry.
Lee Perry burst on the scene with a brand new sound, inventing a genre of music that would come to be called reggae, while mentoring a young Bob Marley and gaining international recognition as a record producer and solo artist. The Upsetter charts 70 years in the life of Lee “Scratch” Perry and is equally a documentation of 30 years of Jamaican music and culture.
The film is narrated by Academy Award winner Benico Del Toro.

NIRVANA - HORMOANING EP
Nirvana's Hormoaning EP is set to be re-released on Record Store Day, April 16th, 2011. The EP was originally only sold on the band's 1992 Australian tour. It features covers of songs by DEVO, The Vaseline . The songs were recorded during a BBC Radio 1 John Peel session.

After seeing Seamus Murphy's "A Darkness Visible" exhibition in London in 2008, Harvey contacted Murphy as she "wanted to speak to him more about his experiences being there in Afghanistan". The collaboration grew, with Murphy taking promotional photographs in July 2010 before filming accompanying videos for each song on the album, Let England Shake.

TRENT REZNOR TO SCORE NEW DAVID FINCHER FILM
After scoring Dave Fincher's The Social Network, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will team up to compose the score to Fincher's film adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
During an interview with the New York Times, Reznor revealed that the "Dragon Tattoo" score would rely more on string arrangements than the electronic-leaning music of "Social Network."
"We started recording things in a different way that was all based on performance, nothing programed," says Reznor, who has completed two hours' worth of music over the past month with Ross. "That would be my limited skills with stringed instruments... We'd process them in a way that really gave it an interesting, organic feel that felt like something we've never done before."

New from Jack White's label comes the "greeting card gatefold" limited vinyl release for rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson's forthcoming LP The Party Ain't Over that plays part of the album's first song when the gatefold opens. Also "hair record" covered in hair from comedian Reggie Watts' favorite barber shops.
Within the store he reveals a glass-cased "monkey band" machine that performs unreleased music from bands before it's released in record or itunes, for the price of a quarter.

TDK UPDATE THE 80'S BOOMBOX
TDK's updated take on the classic 80's boombox.
The 6" subwoofer drive (15 watts), flanked by two 6" speakers (10 watts each), take up a good deal of the piano glass acrylic front of the boombox, leaving room for retro dials and touch buttons that illuminate to life when the stereo's turned on.
Inputs include standard 3.5mm and auxiliary ports, as well as USB for handling iPod/MP3 player/smartphone duty which allows the burden of audio processing to be lifted off the portable device and shifted to the boombox itself. It can play files off of USB sticks and also has AM/FM radio. Any two of these inputs can be used and mixed dynamically, so you can plug in a guitar or microphone and jam along to the radio or a song on your iPhone.

Filmed 25 years ago, Stop Making Sense is being re-released on Blu-ray by Palm Pictures. The film was directed by Jonathan Demme, and filmed over a period of three separate performances at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, in December of 1983. As the concert progresses, the complexity of the music and presentation grows. There are few cutaways and no interviews; the audience doesn’t even appear until the end. The film is focused around the music and the eccentric talents that created it.

Blur are to release new song Fool's Day on a limited edition one-sided 7 inch vinyl single on April 17th, 2010 through Parlophone Records.
Fool’s Day is the first song 4 members of Blur have recorded together since Battery In Your Leg from the album Think Tank 2003.
Fool’s Day is available in the UK at independent music retailers participating in Record Shop Day. 1000 copies have been pressed and will be available at independent record shops around the UK open their doors on Saturday morning.

PORTISHEAD AND GOLDFRAPP CREATE MUSIC SCORE
Band members from Portishead and Goldfrapp have joined forces to create a new score for a classic silent film.
Adrian Utley from Portishead, and Will Gregory from Goldfrapp, will write tracks for The Passion Of Joan Of Arc.
In the one-off event - which will be screened at Bristol's Colston Hall on the 7th of May - the film will be accompanied by a live premiere of the new score. It is a collaboration between the two musicians, the Colston Hall and the Watershed Media Centre.

BEAK - IRON ACTON
BEAK were formed in January 2009 by three Bristol musicians, Billy Fuller, Matt Williams and Geoff Barrow of Portishead. The band have very strict guidelines governing the recording and writing process of their work. The music was recorded live in one room with no overdubs or repair, only using edits to create arrangements. All tracks were written over a twelve-day session in SOA Studios, Bristol.

THOM YORKE NEW BAND!!!
Thom Yorke has formed a new band with Joey Waronker, Mauro Refosco, Flea and Nigel Godrich. The band are going to play music from Thom’s album ‘The Eraser’ and the recently released tracks.
There are two shows scheduled for early October in Los Angeles. Thom spent some time in Los Angeles for a while now and there was a lot of speculation on what was going on… and now we know. A new band with drummer Joey Waronker, who played on most of Beck’s records. Mauro Refosco did percussion on records by David Byrne and Bebel Gilberto. Flea, the bass player of Red Hot Chili Peppers needs no introduction. And neither does long-time Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, who also produced Thom Yorke’s releases.
The band will be playing live for two shows at the L.A. Orpheum Theatre.

RICEBOY SLEEPS
Several years in gestation, the Riceboy Sleeps project was first conceived as an outlet for Jonsi and his boyfriend Alex's visual art, resulting in the highly covetable 1,000 limited edition A6 book, printed in Iceland to highly exacting spec. Gallery shows and video installations followed, and with them the creation of the first dream-like soundscapes towards what would become this album. Recorded at home in between Sigur Rós commitments, the music took shape slowly, and suffered a near fatal setback when the computer on which it was all stored was dragged from the kitchen table in the days before Apple had magnetic power leads. Fortunately some nifty and painstaking keyhole surgery effected during a sojourn in Hawaii resulted in complete recovery of the splendid specimen soon to be before you

LATITUDE
The Latitude Festival is a recently created annual music festival that takes place in Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk, England. The first Latitude Festival took place on the 14-16 July 2006. The 2009 Festival will be on 16-19 July featuring headliners Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and a very special world exclusive solo performance from Thom Yorke.
Latitude is said to be more similar to continental European festivals; as well as a comprehensive bill of musicians, bands and artists across four stages - The Obelisk Arena, The Uncut Arena, The Sunrise Arena, and the Huw Stephens curated Lake Stage - the festival comprises elements of theatre, art, comedy, cabaret, poetry, politics and literature.

SERPENTINE SESSIONS
This summer sees the very first Serpentine Sessions to be held in the prestigious Hyde Park. Regina Spektor, Bon Iver and Tindersticks are to headline this unique and intimate series of concerts on 29th June, 30th June and 1st July. Each event will take place in a specially designed area in the royal park. Unlike other London outdoor events, these concerts will be very intimate, as there is a capacity of just 3000 per night so tickets will be limited.

BURIAL VERSUS FOUR TET
Kieran Hebden, aka Four Tet, is all about collaboration, so it's not a surprise that he's teamed up with shadowy English dubstep crossover Burial, aka William Bevan. The results, "Moth" and "Wolf Cub," "Moth" finds Reichian Gamelan giving way to wooden percussion and subtle background pitch/vocal smears, with an echoing spaciousness that remains throughout. "Wolf Cub" digs into a deeper, stutter-stopping, chiming/ringing/thumping club zone. Both are super mellow: A thoroughly enjoyable mind-meld bearing the fingerprints of both makers, but that also manages to lead them someplace new.

BAT FOR LASHES - DANIEL
Daniel', the new single from Bat For Lashes was directed in Sweden by Johan Renck, he has previously directed videos for Madonna, Kylie, The Knife and New Order. Typically, his videos are dramatic stories filmed with a crisp eye and sharply edited. They are most distinctive, though, for their melancholic blue-green tint and strongly-lit chiaroscuro. Currently Renck is in pre-production for his first feature. Titled Downloading Nancy, it is a very dark story of a woman about to have herself killed by a man she meets on the Internet, but has doubts when she finds herself attracted to him. It stars Holly Hunter, William Hurt and Stellan Skarsgård.

Kinga's first foray into the american market, for Katy Perry's 'I Kissed a Girl', scored her a huge number one video in the US, as well as FIVE nominations at the 2008 MTV VMA Awards. Her work has been featured in i-D and Dazed.

HEAVEN
Heaven was used in the acclaimed skate film Fully Flared directed by Spike Jonze and Ty Evans. The collaboration inspired the directors to take footage and re-edit a sequence of shots that shows the Lakai skateboarding team demonstrating their considerable skills as they navigate through and around various exploding obstacles. With 'Heaven' as the musical backdrop, the resulting marriage of sound to picture is quite extraordinary.

A BLACK HEARTED LOVE
The first video from PJ Harvey and John Parish's 'A Woman A Man Walked By' has been lensed by British artists Jake and Dinos Chapman. The single 'Black Hearted Love' will be released on April 13th through Island Records. "We were both very excited that Jake and Dinos Chapman wanted to make a video for 'Black Hearted Love'. The result is beautiful, mysterious, surreal and enhances the song wonderfully," said PJ Harvey and John Parish of the video.
Nominated for the Turner Prize in 2003, The Chapman Brothers came to prominence as part of Charles Saatchi's Young British Artists, they exhibited at White Cube in 2008. The Chapman Brothers presented a suitably surreal treatment for the song, "We decided 'Black Hearted Love' deserved something haunting and enigmatic - yet brazen and colourful. Hence, a collision between an ominous forest and a garish bouncy castle seemed entirely appropriate... Working with Polly and John was an absolute pleasure."

IPOD RECORD CASE
Talk about an old technology embracing a new technology, these iPod cases made from old 45 RPM records literally do that. Made from a vinyl 45 with a clear plexiglass window and a cork liner, these iPod cases finally take those old records off the shelf and put them to good use. Note how the center hole of the record has been lined up exactly with the scroll wheel of the iPod.
These cool cases were made by Contexture Design, but unfortunately they are completely sold out of the 45 cases- although they still have (the significantly less exciting) blank cassette tape iPod Nano cases.

UK radio presenter Zane Lowe has apparently escaped from BBC studio captivity and in his absence bands and musicians have been filling in. Recent replacements have included Damon Albarn who debuted new material from Gorillaz and wisely waxed lyrical about this gem, Omar Souleyman – Leh Jani, check the video opposite. The album Highway To Hassake album on Sublime Frequencies label.
Gorillaz will apparently be taking a middle-eastern field trip in March and they’ll be hot on the heals of London based hip hop producer Valhalla – who spent most of last year collecting samples in Syria for his forthcoming album. With World Music reclaimed from the yogurt-weavers and one of the worlds biggest bands on board, this could be just the pop-cultural exchange we need.

In recent seasons we have seen a bike, snowboard, skis and a fishing rod. For Spring/Summer 2009 they have once again made such an item - a guitar. ADIDAS HOUSE PARTY
Nima Nourizadeh has directed this latest commercial for adidas, a minute-long film shot at a house party in Los Angeles, David Beckham and the likes of Missy Elliot, Katy Perry, Mark Gonzales, The Ting Tings, Estelle, Method Man and even Ilie Nastase make the jump. The ad is the latest in the Celebrate Originality campaign for adidas Originals and was created by agency Sid Lee in Montreal.

LEGO HIP HOP ALBUM COVERS
The progressive online publication, Format Magazine, just took playing with Legos to a whole new level with their collection of 20 classic hip hop album covers recreated with those iconic plastic Lego men.
Shot in the Format studio by Nick Hanekom, and graphically produced by beat-maker Glen Manucdoc, the little Lego guys assume the notorious album cover poses once carried about by the likes of Ghostface Killah, Biz Markie and RUN-D.M.C., to name a few.

WE LOVE FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE
Musically Florence and the Machine's sound is generally referred to as soul inspired indie. Florence And The Machine's music has received praise across the British music media, especially from the BBC who have played a large part in Florence And The Machine's rise to prominence by bringing them into the spotlight as part of BBC Introducing This has lead to her playing Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds festivals in 2008.
NME magazine has also shown its support of the band by including them in their annual NME Awards Tour for 2009. They are set to support White Lies, Friendly Fires and Glasvegas on the tour . The band's album is currently believed to be on the way in 2009 and we predict Florence to be 2009's breakthorugh star.
