ADIDAS SPZL X GOLDIE

Posted on 2024-09-28

Goldie has been a supporter of adidas SPZL from the very beginning and fronted the autumn/winter 2017 collection shot by Nick Knight. He and adidas SPZL founder Gary Aspden are long time collaborators and have been close friends for many years.

The silhouette itself takes the iconic Silverbirch SPZL as its foundation, updating the timeless look through a number of details that pay homage to Goldie’s inimitable legacy. First, the tonal white upper is adorned in faux-stingray leather overlays (a subtle nod to his B-Boy roots and transatlantic influences) with mesh and nylon underlays. The gold of the stripes and heel is then juxtaposed against a pink pop of colour on the dual branded tongue label. There is a laser cut SPZL ‘Mod Trefoil’ on one shoe with a laser cut Metalheadz logo appearing on the other foot as a further nod to the artist’s trailblazing label. Each pair is finished with Goldie and Spezial Box Logo lace jewels. Rounding out the collaborative silhouette are special edition footbeds which feature a new original Goldie artwork inspired by a pink that he used consistently since his early days as a graffiti writer.

FRED PERRY X CRAIG GREEN

Posted on 2024-09-23

Initially presented on the runway earlier in June, Craig Green brought the duo’s visionary approach to life alongside its Spring/Summer 2025 collection. In tones of white, black, and brown, pieces from the collab appeared cinched in by multiple leather belts and platformed by double-strapped loafers, reinterpreting the traditional codes of masculinity through a complex display of draping and layering.

As the brands gear up to launch the collection, they now share a closer look at the featuring garments where the fashion designer’s eye for reconstructing comes into play on the ubiquitous Fred Perry polo. Taking two distinctive forms, the first shirt in the offering focuses on the pique collar which is replicated twice to create a new silhouette. With its two-layer construction, the piece comes fully reversible, unlike any other polo design.

CARHARTT WIP X SUBU SLIPPERS

Posted on 2024-09-16

Carhartt WIP and SUBU work in collaboration to create a pair of cozy slip-ons for the colder seasons ahead. The Japanese brand specializes in creating winter sandals and its expertise is tapped as the silhouette is made using Cordura’s classic strong fabrication.

The outer shell is made from recycled polyester — this is notably abrasion-resistant and flame-retardent from campfires. Under the exterior, the shoes are soft and cozy as it is lined with a plush inner section and then further supported by a puffed 4-layer pillow insert. In terms of its visual appeal, the slip-ons are finished in Carhartt WIP’s signature Hamilton Brown palette. Branding is seen in the form of a square-shaped label stitched on the side.
