2015-11-16The limited edition G-SHOCK x Burton GW9400BTJ-8 Rangeman is built for survival and designed to withstand the harshest environments. The Burton Rangeman comes fortified with G-SHOCK’s legendary Shock Resistance and 200M Water Resistance and is fully loaded with V3 Triple Sensor Technology allowing for altimeter, compass and barometer/thermometer readings. A dedicated sensor button, developed specifically for the Rangeman to withstand harsh impacts via its unique cylindrical structure, delivers single point access to critical information.
A key motif for both G-SHOCK and Burton, camouflage was incorporated into the design in winter shades of light blue and stark white on the watch band.
ABSOLUT – #ELECTRIKLONDON
2015-11-13On 19 November 2015 Absolut hosts #ElectrikLondon, a hyper sensory, mixed reality exploration into the future of nightlife, curated alongside design studio Marshmallow Laser Feast and independent record label R&S Records. Absolut will take guests on a 360° journey where physical space is transformed using virtual reality to challenge what audiences expect from a night out.
Wrapped in LED projections, the Electrik Room will come to life with tailored DJ sets by Leon Vynehall, Lone, Space Dimension Controller and Moiré. The LED wall projections will be motion reactive – responding to sound and mood over the night. Virtual reality headsets will transport guests into another dimension, transforming perceptions of nightlife, and raising questions of reality in the digital age.
Absolut’s ambassador and mixologist Rico Dynan will create a series of experimental drinks which will act as an introduction to each experience. They include the Coffee Tonik, Absolut Mule and the Electrolyte, created using Absolut, Coconut Water, Lime Juice, pineapple syrup, blue curacao.
#ElectrikLondon is part of a series of Absolut Nights events taking place across the globe and is inspired by the launch of Absolut’s latest limited edition bottle, Absolut Electrik; a twin bottle release available in electrik blue and silver, with semi-transparent coating creating see-through reflections.

FLESH GORDON PISTOL REPLICA
2015-11-09While the outlandish pistol from Flesh Gordon (1974), a campy soft-core send-up of Flash Gordon, might at first blush seem like an unusual choice to release as a collectible, the film showcased state-of-the-art analog effects and featured work by SFX experts who would later go on to work on well-known classics including Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Passionate about Sci-Fi films and related props, Tomenosuke’s founder Shinji Nakako has collaborated with the gun’s creator, noted model maker Gregory Jien, on a limited-edition release of this rather unusual cinematic firearm.
The collectible was designed to approximate the crude quality of the original movie prop from which it was cast. These prop-accurate details include visible seamlines, rough paint and other imperfections. These “flaws” reflect the low-budget nature of the film. Limited to 30 pieces, the Flesh Gordon Pistol complete with acrylic display-stand and certificate of authenticity.
