TweetThe artwork references one of Basquiat’s earliest works, Untitled (L.A Painting), which has never been licensed before and appeared only once in his second ever show. Dominated by the same light blue of the alcohol brand, the composition contains many key visuals emblematic of Basquiat’s career, the crown, the bird, the coin, and the skull, amongst many.
“We are honored to shine a light on Basquiat’s dynamic creativity and offer an entirely new way to experience art” said Jaime Keller, Brand Director of Bombay Sapphire North America, in a statement. “This bottle represents our longstanding history of supporting creative visionaries in our mission to make the art world more accessible. Through the release of our third artist-designed Special Edition bottle, we are allowing people access to Jean-Michel Basquiat’s art to be inspired by his work for generations to come.”
TweetadFunture celebrates its 20th Anniversary of vinyl art toy curation with two new resin editions of Dutch graffiti pioneer Boris Tellegen’s MIA-M resin sculptures produced by his A Play Thing label. Better known as DELTA, Tellegen’s block sculptures bring graffiti into 3-dimensions with letters flowing into robot-like characters.
The MIA-M resins are inspired by Tellegen’s original large-scale sculpture in oak for his A Friendly Takeover exhibition (2017) at MIMA in Brussels. adFunture is set to release both its 20th Anniversary Edition in its blue/black/white color scheme and the SCT edition based on a DELTA toy series dating back to 2002.
Edition of 70
TweetPhiladelphia-based artist Distortedd’s (Anhia Santana) Zaira is her first original vinyl art toy. Drawn from her Synchronicity painting—her favorite piece—the bust-style figure features a beautiful woman with pastel wire fragments in her hair and across her body. Having cut the wires tying her to the outside world, the one-eyed character—a Distortedd signature—is free to connect to herself. The figure stands apart with its sexy yet off-center design.
A numbered edition of 250.
TweetFujiwara, who’s often cited as the godfather of streetwear, echoes the technological and aesthetic leaps and bounds VanMoof has made in the bicycle department, and now its S3 model e-bike has been given the fragment rework.
Much like Fujiwara, the e-bike has seen a growing cultural footprint, moving into traditional spaces and subsequently bringing them into a new era.
The collaborative e-bike comes packed with all of VanMoof’s latest technology, including Turbo Boost for instant acceleration, automatic electronic four-gear shifting, integrated hydraulic brakes, a keyless Kick Lock, and anti-theft devices.
Fragment design’s VanMoof S3 collaboration is debuting exclusively at Dover Street Market London
TweetVermont-based WhistlePig distillery has just unveiled its ninth edition of The Boss Hog series of rare and collectible whiskey. Named The Boss Hog IX: Siren’s Song, this release continues to uphold The Boss Hog’s five promises: single barrel, bottled at proof, powerfully complex, distinctly unique from anything they have done before, and stupendous. The liquid gold starts as a straight rye whiskey aged in American Oak and double cask finished in WhistlePig’s Greek fig nectar and farm-scratch tentura (forged from cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, orange peel, and honey), a Greek liqueur originating in the Peloponnesian city of Patras.
