JAKBOY BY JAKMAN X MAGMA DSGN
2023-04-24French artist Jakman brings his urban cowboy persona into a new medium with the Jakboy resin art toy from new brand Magma DSGN, founded by photographer/toy collector Bard. Flowing out of his original paintings, Jakboy features the faceless cowboy shooting from the hip with attitude to spare.
The cowboy hat, track jacket and baby blue flared pants showcases the symbolic gunslinger’s swag and confidence. A recurring feature of Jakman’s work, the scorpion logo on the jacket is likely a reference to his Scorpio zodiac sign. Sculpted by Emergency Toys, the exaggerated proportions add visual appeal and may also be a nod to the 6’1″ artist/IMG Paris model’s tall, thin profile.
