KEITH BOADWEE – HOW MUCH IS THAT FROGGY IN THE WINDOW?

Posted on 2024-11-18

California artist Keith Boadwee returns to New York for the first time since his spectacular joint exhibition with Nicole Eisenman at the FLAG Art Foundation in 2020/21. At WINDOW, Boadwee presents How Much is that Froggy in the Window? which features portraits of frogs, poodles, and emo kids in various poses of reflection while vaping, smoking, holding flowers, or getting ready for a boozy drink. Boadwee, known for his transgressive, psychosexual work that has tested social conventions and acquainted viewers with rebellious subject matter and the artist’s bodily functions as a means to paint, has recently focused on a cast of rather relaxed protagonists whose only predilection for bodily fluids is hinted at in their fondness for the occasional plume of cigarette smoke or water spill.

JUNJI ITO X WEBER TOMIE COLLABORATION

Posted on 2024-11-18

The collection is comprised of a pair of T-shirts, each of which feature key visuals from the first and second volumes of Tomie printed on the front. To retain the graphic’s bewitching expression, colors and the atmosphere of Ito’s original work, the design was placed using traditional silkscreen printing. In addition, the font for the Tomie logo is one that’s not normally used in the series, while the name on the collar is signed by the artist himself.

PALACE X OAKLEY

Posted on 2024-11-11

The sky-inspired “day cloud” and “night cloud” prints dominate the capsule’s color palette, which, respectively resemble a daytime sky and nighttime sky. The prints appear on the duo’s striking array of technical puffa jackets as well as atop the mesh venting on the matching soft-padded snow pants.

Further down the line comes an array of fleece and lycra-panelled Sherpa fleece zip-ups as well as technical jerseys crafted solely from wicking fabrics to ensure optimal heat regulation. A handful of co-branded Tri-ferg t-shirts round out the apparel front.

The duo also delivers a collaborative footwear offering as part of the collection: a sport-inspired sneaker entitled the Oakley Edge Flex, that comes crafted from water-resistant fabric and is further defined by its chunky rubber soles and ballistic upper.

Winter sports heavyweight K2 Snowboarding gets on board as well, contributing a co-branded snowboard, with other accessories spanning a pair of goggles and corresponding MOD 1 Helmet, caps, beanies, gloves, backpacks, balaclavas and a new version of Oakley’s “Clifden” sunglasses.

Available November 15th 2024.

AWAKE NY X COCA-COLA

Posted on 2024-11-11

The New York-based brand blends its streetwear sensibilities with classic iconography from Coca-Cola’s ubiquitous advertising across a nine-piece drop.

The slogan, which the drinks company has been using since the 1940s, finds itself on two styles of graphic tops: classic cotton tees with a large backprint alongside two colorful soccer jerseys.

BEVAN DAVIES – NEW YORK TYPOLOGIES

Posted on 2024-11-11

Bevan Davies: New York Typologies will feature vintage black and white photographs of lower Manhattan made in the mid-1970s. Davies utilized a large-format view camera to generate images of great depth and clarity, pursuing an approach to documenting the urban landscape of the Empire City that the late photographer Lewis Baltz described as “rigorously contemporary while acknowledging a use of the camera which dates from the inception of the medium.” This exhibition will showcase varying aspects of the city’s architecture, presenting serial images devoted to these cast-iron edifices.
