GERMAINE KRUIP – TWO CIRCLES, MIRRORED
2024-10-07In contemplating this presentation for the Annexe, Kruip imagined a reversed version of the artwork titled Untitled Circle Stainless Steel, Phantom, 2024. Both works are made from the same stainless steel plate polished to a mirror finish.
Although both circles are static, one evokes the presence of a spotlight while the other signifies its absence.
In her work, Kruip often employs pulsating light movements and optical illusions that seamlessly transition between light and shadow, evoking traditions from theatre and cinema. Here, facing each other, both artworks enter a dialogue and embody the artist’s deep fascination with time, light, and geometry, offering viewers a moment of reflection, a resting point.

TIGER ROCHA – BODYFOUNTAIN
2024-10-07Steve Turner is pleased to present bodyfountain, a solo exhibition by New York-based Tiger Rocha, featuring four large-scale abstract paintings that are emotional explorations of the artist’s desires. They are composed of layers of thinned and sculptural oil paint that Rocha slashed and dripped across the canvas over a period of several months. He describes the paintings as expansive erotic environments, landscapes strewn with the energy and traces of his body, desires, and emotions. The paint, like blood or other bodily fluid, fountains in all directions conveying Rocha’s sense of ecstasy.

SUBWARE X NEIGHBORHOOD
2024-10-07Stash’s spraypainted style exists at the core of the collaboration, his instantly recognizable design language infused into onto each of the garments in some capacity. A black knit bomber stands out, engulfed in a monochromatic colorway and complete with snap button closure down the middle. A Subware insignia is stamped on one side of the chest, while NEIGHBORHOOD and “Craft with pride” are written on the other side and “Subware: Visual Maintenance” in big lettering on the back.
Continuing on into the capsule, the duo offers up a handful of graphic t-shirts – both short sleeve and long sleeve – printed with Stash’s works and complete with clean cobranding. Rounding out the release is a collaborative skate deck, adorned with NEIGHBORHOOD grafitti tagging across the middle.
