KUČKA – HEAVYWEIGHT

Posted on 2024-06-17

Can You Hear Me Dreaming? is KUČKA’s second album for LUCKYME®. Her decade-plus of experience in the studio shines through on 12 tracks of laser-cut electronic production and irresistible pop songwriting. Slipping out of autobiographical mode and into other people’s stories, she explores the far reaches of her “cartoon brain”, riffing on a personal moodboard of everything from surreal creatures and rainy cityscapes to tattoos and “cute-ugly” pottery.

KUČKA is the solo project of electronic producer and songwriter Laura Jane Lowther. A Los Angeles transplant from Western Australia, with roots in the northwest of England, KUČKA is a self-powered producer, songwriter and vocalist who has collaborated with artists as varied as Flume, SOPHIE, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Mount Kimbie and Vince Staples since her electrifying debut EP in 2012.

ZILLA LEUTENEGGER – RIEN DE LOURD

Posted on 2024-06-17

Galerie Peter Kilchmann is pleased to announce Rien de lourd, a new solo exhibition by Swiss artist Zilla Leutenegger. Zilla is one of the artists who has established video as an artistic medium in Switzerland in the 1990’s and she has made a name for herself internationally especially through the poetic finesse of her video works. Zilla has taken this year’s Summer Olympics in the French capital as an opportunity to create new works that playfully explore the theme of sport and in particular, movement in space. The artist explores discipline and exhaustion with familiar ease and creates contrasting images. Eleven monotypes, in which the drawn female figure takes centre stage, two video installations and ceramic works can be seen in the gallery in the rue des Arquebusiers.

Opposite – Poids (359 gr), 2024

Exhibition runs through to September 21st, 2024

TRICKER’S CABIN: THE ORAL & VISUAL HISTORY OF ONLINE CERAMICS

Posted on 2024-06-17

Step inside Tricker’s Cabin, an encyclopedic look into the tie-dyed, skeleton-filled, joyfully anarchic world of Online Ceramics, the coveted clothing brand founded by Elijah Funk and Alix Ross. From their early days in art school and first time on the road selling Grateful Dead bootleg shirts, this is the origin story of how a homespun T-shirt-selling business evolved into a larger, more philosophical art practice with a singular aesthetic.

Spanning topics as wide-ranging as punk music, haunted houses, veganism, and how to smoke DMT out of a potato, Tricker’s Cabin is a portrait of a unique partnership between two friends and artists who have forever changed our notion of what goes on a T-shirt.
