KENZO – TIGER TAIL COLLECTION BY NIGO

Posted on 2022-01-31

The latest limited-edition range highlights NIGO’s cartoonish reimagination of KENZO’s signature tiger emblem along with an appreciation for flora and fauna. Comprised of two five-piece looks, the selection features options for men and women, though a genderless spirit prevails.

The timeless and essential pieces are led by a relaxed black oversized molleton hoodie, dark green drawstring cotton cargo trouser with the new signature flower button. Other standouts include a black sweatshirt and black and white T-shirts emblazoned with illustrated tiger tail motifs at the rear.

MICHAEL MASSAIA – TRY AND REMEMBER

Posted on 2022-01-31

Gitterman Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of recent work by Christopher Russell. Russell challenges the traditional conception of photography as producer of evidence by limiting the functionality of his lens to make fuzzy or hazy color photographs. The resulting images, abstract and ambiguous, form the foundation for drawings of the artist’s imaginary vistas. Russell draws by scratching through the emulsion with a razor, revealing the white fiber base of the print. Each artwork is at once a photograph, a drawing, and a bas-relief.

VEGYN – DON’T FOLLOW ME BECAUSE I’M LOST TOO!!

Posted on 2022-01-31

UK producer Vegyn is back with a vengeance, and a 75 track mixtape entitled Don’t Follow Me Because I’m Lost Too!!. Vegyn sees the prodigious length of Follow Me as a unique look into his creative process, calling its release “cathartic.” Essentially a compilation of lost tracks between 2015 and 2021, it comprises everything from lo-fi hip hop beats to solo piano torch songs to experiments in high BPM dance music. All that adds up to a fascinating snapshot of a young producer relishing in finding his voice.

BUMBLEBEE BY KANO X UNRULY INDUSTRIES

Posted on 2022-01-31

kaNO taps into Bumblebee’s love of loud music for his new vinyl art toy of the popular Transformer from Unruly Industries. Stepping away from the fight and onto the stage, Optimus Prime’s trusted lieutenant goes into MC mode, with kangol-style hat, gold chain and of course, a mic to drop rhymes. While we haven’t seen his dance moves, the gold ‘BB’ on the front of the VW just might be doing double duty, for Bumblebee and BBoy.

kaNO’s design adds an old-school black + white vibe with Bumblebee’s classic black and yellow style. Cleverly playing off the Transformers concept, the interior portion of the Autobot’s feet reveal a classic black + white sneaker design. The old-school vibe continues with ‘kaNO’ in stylized lettering on the license plant in front and on the hood in the rear. kaNO finishes the design with his signature, stylized ‘K’ on the hat.

UNMASKED

Posted on 2022-01-31

Victoria Miro is delighted to present an exhibition in Venice of works by Milton Avery, Jules de Balincourt, Hernan Bas, María Berrío, Chantal Joffe, Doron Langberg, Alice Neel and Celia Paul.
Seeing faces and communicating unspoken emotions and thoughts via facial expression has never seemed more significant than now, after nearly two years of a pandemic which has made mask-wearing an essential aspect of everyday life. In these works, a number of which have been created especially for the exhibition, artists convey the myriad nuances of human countenance: the warmth of a friend’s smile; the pursed lips of a toddler; the resolute gaze of a self-portrait…
