Tweet“out from out where”, the classic amon tobin album from 2002 is finally back in stock and being reissued for the first time in gold coloured vinyl and a glow in the dark effect on the front cover.
with “out from out where”, his fourth album under his own name, tobin cemented his reputation as one of the most innovative and important names in electronic music. it was darker, more complex, even more rhythmically driving and intense than what had come before.
TweetFor the imprint’s sixth release, we take a left turn to Brisbane, 1986, when little known post-punk project He Dark Age released their debut cassette, Ecce Homo. By all accounts, the album is a lost gem of the DIY golden age, a scintillating mixture of the post-punk belligerence and the earliest remnants of avant-garde electronic music borne out of industrial music. Ranging from the rolling noise churn of ‘Never Never Never’ to the chopped evangelical dialogue of ‘Jesus Didn’t Beat Him Over The Head’, and you wouldn’t believe they were made by the same band.
Tweet“Fuera de lugar” (Out of Place) is an exhibition about belonging, places of memory, and the representation of particular moments and places crossed by History. Colloquially, the expression “Fuera de lugar” is used to indicate an inappropriate tone or attitude.
The artists Daniel Otero Torres, Kiluanji Kia Henda, Leah Gordon, Patricia Esquivias, and Sammy Baloji, think about space as a significant point of contact between social processes and the transformations arising from the impossibility of pinpointing History materially and its complex counterpoint, the monument.
