TweetButter Goods drops its second Q2 2020 delivery of apparel and accessories. The collection, which includes knit sweaters, light outerwear, hoodies, cargo pants and beanies, marks the transition from breezy lightweight summer apparel to cozy fall staples.
TweetWith Prole Art Threat, the second LP for Planet Mu from his East Man project, Anthoney Hart (Basic Rhythm) once again soups-up first-wave grime, Eski and sublow sounds for an album that is retro and future-facing at the same time.
TweetCelebrating the 40th anniversary of “The Empires Strikes Back,” these sneakers take cues from the elite stormtroopers. One-piece Primeknit uppers are done up in white, with the standard Three Stripe graphic removed to provide a clean look. A healthy dose of black flecks nods to the two-tone nature of stormtrooper armor, and a stormtrooper visage sits on the tongue badge under the black eyestays. Interchangeable lace deubres provide the shoe’s signature detail, allowing the wearer to switch between a classic Star Wars graphic, first generation stormtrooper helmets and a stormtrooper spellout.
Memorable “Close the blast doors/Open the blast doors!” text hits taken directly from Episode IV appear on the heel tabs, while the midsole bricks feature blue ridged detailing on the heel and an adidas Originals logo towards the forefoot.
Tweet“In his new book I’M HORNY, TOM GILES has been documenting the sexual hysteria that has gripped the nations. Working with photographer Adriana Roslin, the photographic book contains submissions from over 35 creatives across every medium, exploring each artist’s own horny isolation experience. Whether alone, with friends, lovers, boyfriends and girlfriends or more, what Giles hopes to achieve is to ‘dismantle some taboos surrounding things we think we should keep secret: texts, photos, searches, thoughts and actions in pursuit of fulfilling these desires in a safe, consenting, responsible way.'”
Release for order, 3rd August 2020.
TweetSince 2008, at the onset of the Great Recession, photographer and conceptual artist Jonathan Blaustein has been working on art projects that investigate consumption in America, and he brings them together in one narrative in this first book, Extinction Party. In an unprecedented time of the Covid-19 pandemic, Extinction Party was (coincidentally and appropriately) released in March 2020. With the photo essay- the images and titles, forward essay by Kevin Kwan, and the metaphorical story in between, the book could not be a more timely commentary on the state of our Earth and humanity.
