BRYTE – ICE CREAM

Posted on 2019-12-09

R&S Records team up with London-based label More Time Records for a four track compilation repping their signature sound of forward-thinking, percussion-driven dance music.

More Time is headed up by DJ/producers SNØW and Ahadadream, their releases reflect an international vision; marrying the sounds of Ghana, Trinidad, Saudi Arabia, The DRC and South Africa with a rugged UK edge that harmoniously circles bass, afrobeats, UK funky, grime and techno.

SNØW and Ahadadream both deliver club ready instrumentals that draw on their love of UK Funky, GQOM, Kuduro and Afrobeats. Bryte is one of the most exciting voices coming out of Ghana, his track ‘Ice Cream’ set’s the tone for the EP. Produced by regular partner-in-crime, Mina and previous collaborator Tarquin (both from London) – it really summarises the cross contamination of sounds which More Time is a hub for.

Bala Bala Boyz are a group of rappers from London of Congolese descent. ‘Sieta’ notches up the tempo on a 808 heavy power soca riddim from Trinidad via Bristol production duo Jus Now (SNØW, Keshav Singh)

Posted on 2019-12-09

‘Sleepmoss’, the second album from Meemo Comma a.k.a. Brighton-based producer Lara Rix-Martin, is an adventurous, unusual and very contemporary sonic take on the impact of landscape. It’s a kind of storytelling, inspired by the shifting landscapes of her daily walks with her dog on the South Downs.

MR MARTINI 25TH ANNIVERSARY WITH EXIT MAGAZINE & SIZ INDUSTRIA GRAFICA

Posted on 2019-12-06

YESTERDAY TODAY AND TOMORROW

Mr Martini celebrates his 25 years of passion riding motorcycles by making people dream with new adventures. The Hatter Matto of Verona pulls two special creations out of his red top hat: a new special and his first book, born to celebrate the 25th anniversary of activity.

Verona, 20 October 2019 – In the world of customizers Mr Martini has occupied a place of his own for twenty-five years. It is 1994 when he presents his first special on the market. A quarter of a century has passed since then and his experience in the sector has become a guarantee.

Mr Martini 25th Anniversary is the event that celebrated the first important milestone in its history. A two-day event (Friday 18 and Saturday 19 October) in which the Mad Hatter opened the doors of a unique space for all fans of special motorcycles and revealed the secrets of his world. There was no better occasion to present his latest “creature” La Venticinque, a visionary like him, who recounts – through two displays integrated into the bike’s fairing – the twenty-five years of activity. This Special is part of the installation hosted in his space, an exhibition that showed all the attendees the 24 most representative bikes of his commitment.

And as a grand finale the presentation of the book “Mr Martini – We are what we build” words and works that tell everything about his story.

DIKE BLAIR

Posted on 2019-12-02

Known for his photorealistic paintings and drawings, that although absent of human form, offer moments imparted with tangible physical presence. As if fragments of memory, Blair depicts the residue of familiar actions and habits – Styrofoam cups of coffee cooling, luridly coloured cocktails lit by a harsh flash or corners of non-descript paintings one would find decorating a diner. With no defined beginning, middle or end, these transient glimpses allude to a larger narrative we can to choose to imagine.

Blair’s scenes either lit by artificial flash, isolating the arrangements from its surroundings, or depicted in natural light, fragments of blue skies and light bouncing off slick tiles and table tops are arguably defined by the role light plays in them. The glare, sheen and reflection of his lens is expertly translated, the painterly rendering off his surfaces enhancing the lucidity of his observations – one can almost smell the smoke escaping an extinguished cigarette and feel the drops of condensation sliding down a chilled glass of beer.
