HERMAN AGUIRRE – TEJIDO

Posted on 2019-07-22

Tejido (Tissue), is a solo exhibition by Chicago-based Herman Aguirre that consists of new paintings inspired by ordinary objects in his home that have strong sentimental value: family photographs, linens, articles of clothing belonging to him and his wife, a bouquet of flowers and other souvenirs. Aguirre delicately builds up his works so that they represent the fragility of life and of malleability of memory.

Opposite – Viento y sol, 2019

Exhibition runs through to August 24th, 2019

HOKA X XTERRA TORRENT

Posted on 2019-07-22

Designed and built with the collaboration of world class HOKA trail athletes, the Torrent boasts competitive credentials. Created as a trail racer, it incorporates the seemingly contradictory combination of cushioning and agility. The lightweight performance is made possible with a PROFLY midsole, providing forgiving landing and responsive toe-off.

Offered in two colorways — a green camo upper paired with a vibrant yellow sole or a grey camo upper coupled with a bright red sole — the main strength of the sneaker is the amount of research and tech packed into it. The trail runner was designed and built in collaboration with professional athletes in the sport, and has managed to balance cushioning and comfort with agility — two normally contradictory traits.

NEW BALANCE – 998 MADE IN USA

Posted on 2019-07-15

This iteration of New Balance’s 998 takes on yet another eclectic combination, fusing abstract prints like speckled dots and tie-dye for a color scheme reminiscent of the Milky Way.

Dubbed “Blue with Green” on the brand’s webstore, the sneaker is constructed with black suede underlays and navy and purple overlays along the upper. Mesh panels bring in a variety of prints, including a pink tie-dye gradient on the collar and tongue, as well as a wavy green design on the toe. Meanwhile, the “N” logo is featured in turquoise and outlined in grey, bringing in yet another patterned element.
