Posted on 2015-01-29

The collection is called the ‘Cult of the Atomic Carriage House’ and is inspired by the bright neon lights of New York City.

“Bubbled” hardware coated in neon rubber, neon binding and neon trims, juxtapose with Coach’s signature, natural saddle-colored leather on a family of downtown bags and accessories that includes, for the first time, a leather-and-neon-trimmed C.O.A.C.H. bicycle.

LARRY CLARK $100 PHOTOGRAPH SALE

Posted on 2015-01-28

A large selection of unique Larry Clark photographs will be on sale to fans and followers of the artist’s work. The photographs date from 1992 – 2010, and were taken by Clark on or around the locations of his films from that time – including Kids (1995), Bully (2001), Ken Park (2002), and Wassup Rockers (2005), among others. The pictures document the people, kids and friends he was interacting with during this period, many playing leading roles in his films. The collection of photographs also includes outtakes from a calendar shoot for the street brand Supreme, as well as many unique portraits, self portraits and various snapshots.

Having recently turned 71, Clark found himself faced with the question of what to do with the thousands of unique prints he had accumulated over the years. Instead of gifting to museum archives, or selling at auction, Clark has decided to distribute a large portion of his archive to the friends and fans that have played a central role, sometimes literally, in his career to date. In his words, the sale is for “…all the kids that come to my shows in thousands and could never afford 10 to 15 thousand dollars for a print (…) this is a pay back to all the skate rats and collectors who would like a souvenir so I can die happy.”

Event runs from January 29th to February 4th, 2015

JOHN CARPENTER – LOST THEMES

Posted on 2015-01-26

John Carpenter has been responsible for much of the horror genre’s most striking soundtrack work in the fifteen movies he’s both directed and scored. The themes can instantly flood his fans’ musical memory with imagery of a menacing shape stalking a babysitter, a relentless wall of ghost-filled fog, lightning-fisted kung fu fighters, or a mirror holding the gateway to hell. The all-new music on Lost Themes asks Carpenter’s acolytes to visualize their own nightmares.

“Lost Themes was all about having fun,” Carpenter says. “It can be both great and bad to score over images, which is what I’m used to. Here there were no pressures. No actors asking me what they’re supposed to do. No crew waiting. No cutting room to go to. No release pending. It’s just fun. And I couldn’t have a better set-up at my house, where I depended on (collaborators) Cody (Carpenter, of the band Ludrium) and Daniel (Davies, who wrote the songs for I, Frankenstein) to bring me ideas as we began improvising. The plan was to make my music more complete and fuller, because we had unlimited tracks. I wasn’t dealing with just analogue anymore. It’s a brand new world. And there was nothing in any of our heads when we started other than to make it moody.”
