James Brown discovered Tony Cook playing at a block party for the WRDW-AM radio station Brown owned in his childhood hometown of Augusta, Georgia. Cook was an Augusta native who began drumming in his early teens, learning full albums by the likes of Brown, Al Green, Rufus Thomas, Wilson Pickett and Kool & the Gang.
The 4AD label has released her third full-length LP, Visions, the album was recorded in Grimes’ apartment over a three-week period.
Her debut album, Geidi Primes, was released on cassette in 2010.
The Amon Tobin boxset is a strictly limited edition release and will come in the form of a beautiful high quality bolt fastened mechanical ‘press’ (based on a flower press). Packed inside are 6 x 10″ vinyl, 7 x CD, 2 x DVD and several posters. Most of the material is unreleased, almost none of it has ever been available on a physical format before.
