KRINK X CASIO G-SHOCK

Posted on 2011-03-21

Casio G-Shock presents a new collaboration with artist/entrepreneur Craig Costello, aka “KR”, founder of Krink.G-Shock has been an avid supporter of underground culture, so it was only fitting that they would join forces to create a collaborative timepiece, the DW6900KR-8. While staying true to the G-Shock toughness and technology, the DW6900KR-8 carries the tradition of Krink’s minimalist design aesthetic, the DW-6900KR-8 has a metallic matte silver finish (Casio pulled it out of it’s library especially for KR) and for the first time in G-Shock history, the watch will bare a full mirror face and LCD display.

Each G-Shock x Krink timepiece has a custom-made “silver on silver” commemorative tin for its collectors.

JAMES SIENA

Featuring new works created by the artist over the past three years. The exhibition focuses on the artist’s methodology, from his use of repeated systems to figurative drawings that explore alternate means of creating an image.
The exhibition features twenty-three new glossy enamel on aluminum paintings, and thirty works on paper; together, the painstakingly crafted works demonstrate that even a small change to an initial variable produces vastly different end results.

BEN QUILTY – INHABIT

Posted on 2011-03-14

Ben Quilty’s recent suite of paintings, Inhabit, 2010, demonstrate an important culmination in his work as it explores wider concepts of identity. Quilty, a distinguished portraitist, arrived at the multi-part epic in an attempt to reconcile his identity as a white Australian. Conceived as a self-portrait, Inhabit also acts as a collective national portrait and could arguably be considered a barometer of domestic sentiment as the Australian reconciliation movement progresses.

GRAYSON COX – NUDGE, NUDGE ME DO

Posted on 2011-03-14

Nudge, Nudge Me Do points to a mass compliance that has transformed our built environment and our mode of navigation within it. On view is an evocation of soft corporate power without concrete intention.
Grayson Cox’s show is a collection of prints, places, aspirational architectural, and shunted points of purchase, culled and dyed into fabric with bleach, gives voice to the ominous appeal of corporate identity, of forms so singularly generic that they exemplify the disorientation of contemporary moral space.

CHEMA MADOZ

Posted on 2011-03-14

Madoz combines daily objects in different ways and takes photographs of this creations, without manipulating the photographs afterwards. This way he creates images that are placed outside their original context and create a new reality together. His photographs are not only taken to be seen, they are made to think about, reflect on and therefore, in all ways, to be contemplated. That is exactly why his pictures are so extraordinary; his visual paradoxes need our reasoning, our consideration; they are created to be completed and accomplished in our thoughts.

His work has been the object of many exhibitions and publications, all over the World. It is part of several international collections, for example the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid; Museo Marugame, Hirai, Japan en Museo de Bellas Artes de Buenos Aires.
